Flange wrinkling in incremental shape rolling

چکیده

Abstract. Automotive structural components from Advanced High Strength Steels (AHSS) can be manufactured with Flexible Roll Forming (FRF). Flange wrinkling is a common shape defect in FRF, this restricts the application of FRF automotive industry. The new Incremental Shape Rolling process (ISR) showed that high tensile transverse strain developed flange and assists plastic deformation flange. Hence, wrinkle severity significantly reduced when weight-optimized are formed. In study, ISR applied to variable width profile DP600. This investigated modified component. forming strains compared those obtained case. experimental trials performed on prototype facility then used validate numerical models which analyse behaviour both processes. results show significant reduction wrinkling. due facilitates hence stably compressed required shape.
